We offer for sale an idyllic Impressionistic English Landscape painted in minute detail by artist J. Glenn.

Vibrant colors, beautiful gilded frame, appealing theme: This beautiful view of the English countryside has a timeless beauty. Painted in extreme detail, the eye catches the figure of a young boy — possibly fishing? — beside the languid waters on a perfect summer day... It's late afternoon and late summer. The skies are hinting at the coming dusk, and the golden shine on otherwise verdant trees suggests an autumn to come.

This painting was purchased in London in 1998 at an outdoor estate sale in Kensington. The seller had no idea of where the artist came from. Our own research has been fruitless to date. The intricate detail and minute brush strokes indicate an artist of great talent and exactitude. We believe from the stretchers that this dates from the 1950's and thus call it "vintage" rather than Victorian style.

This painting has been in our office for many years, and would make a perfect addition to another office, a library, dining room, living room of other public space in your own home. It is framed in a beautifully crafted surrounding carved wood frame. It is quite heavy for its size weighing about 20 lbs.
