Patricia Crum "Still Life of Cantaloupe & Pears" (1973)
Renowned regional artist Patricia Crum created this gorgeous still life "Cantaloupe & Pears" in the early 1970's. Ms. Crum was known to paint many landscapes using the rustic beauty of Northern Illinois for her works.
This still life was gifted to us by Phyllis Boege in the early 1970's (1973). We have had difficulty tracking down the artist herself. Her impressionistic approach and innovative use of color brings a freshness and beauty to all that she perceives, and a deftness in execution that somehow reminds us of Japanese Calligraphy — often called "Shuji"
The painting is contained in a simple frame that is about 2.5 inches thick. It measures about 14 wide and 9 inches high. It weighs about 2 lbs.
