Daniel Lotton Large Anthurium & Leaf Vase (1995)
Daniel Lotton created this incredible Anthurium motif vase in 1995. It has graced our home for many years. The inner shell of the work is a deep Red, and when light passes through it, it literally changes color like a chameleon. As the sun chases across your room, depending upon where the Vase is positioned, it changes color. The Vase literally appears to move and radiate energy throughout the day, then calms down at night.
The Vase weighs about 14 lbs and is very large and heavy for a work of its kind. A clear-cased layer overlays the wild Lavender Anthuriums with psychedelic leaves and stems. A red interior catches sunlight and "sets the vase on fire" given the right angles and lighting.
This is one of my favorite Daniel Lotton pieces. As Daniel's fame grows, more and more Lotton collectors and room designers are recognizing his unique talents. Daniel Lotton's mastery of color control, batch making inventiveness, and one-of-a-kind vision for glass artistry is well-worth purchasing this unique work now.
